8TH ANNUAL WHEATLAKE CANCER & WELLNESS WALK & 5 K SATURDAY, MAY 17TH, 2014 AT THE BIG RAPIDS RIVERWALK REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE BIG RAPIDS MIDDLE SCHOOL LOCATED AT 500 WARREN. 5K – REGISTRATION AT 8 AM., START AT 9 AM WALK- REGISTRATION AT 9 AM., START AT 10 AM This event to benefit the Susan P. Wheatlake Women's Cancer and Wellness Fund of the Big Rapids Hospital Foundation, will include awards, a silent auction a raffle, skin cancer screenings and refreshments. The Old Jail Sale is May 24

The Big Rapids Historic Preservation Commission will host its 16th annual Memorial Day weekend fundraiser yard sale at the Old Jail on Saturday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and shop the sale!rnrnBRHPC volunteers also will pick up community members’ donations of clean, gently-used household goods at no charge between Monday, May 12 and Friday, May 23. rnrnFor more information, please call the Old Jail at (231) 796-9507. Rada Knives will be available. Don’t forget to visit the Chocolate tasting area. $2.00 For Adults $0.50 for Children Includes all types of dark and white chocolate goodies.
